Childhood Diseases

The term childhood disease is sometimes subjective, and does not refer to an accepted, categorical list. Nearly all the diseases in this list can also be contracted by adults, and, of course, all children can contract diseases not categorized as "childhood diseases". However, certain diseases are much more likely to occur in children than adults, especially highly prevalent and transmissible infectious diseases. A doctor who specializes in child health (pediatrician) would have much more experience with childhood diseases than ordinary doctors.
